Twisting the wire makes a more secure mechanical connection with the clay. After embedding the wire in epoxy clay and sculpting the basic shape, I let them cure. At this size, it’s very difficult to be precise with epoxy. I find it’s easier to sculpt larger than needed, then refine by carving and sanding after the clay has cured. ✨ Once I was happy with the shape, I used fresh epoxy to sculpt the palms, again refining the shape after curing.
