Before and after holographic powder. Holographic powder is translucent, so the first step is always creating an underpainting that deepens the natural shadows and boosts the highlights.
The petals are finished with a color shifting chameleon paint, and the inside piece is painted with holographic pigment that reflects rainbow. See it in person along with fantastic new work by @ryshu and @danielcurranart this Saturday, August 17th 5-9 at Galeria Regina.
Photographing my work helps shift my perspective from maker to viewer. In the middle of a project, all I can see is potential and problems to solve. This last step of documenting turns it all back into magic. I get to discover new details, play with perspective, and think about all the patterns I’ve found in a lifetime of making things.
You can see all the new stuff I’ve been working on at the encore reception of Journey to Terra Flora at Galeria Regina Saturday, August 17th, 5-9pm.
Finished with holographic powder and glitter, it sparkles rainbows in person. On view now at Galeria Regina, encore reception Saturday August 17th, 5-9 ?
The Void is back! This monster will be on view along with new work at Galeria Regina Saturday July 13, 5-9.
