When working with flat objects, I often start with either craft felt or partially felted thicker sheets I buy online. After I sew the finished pieces together, I push wool back over the stitches to hide them.

The first fro-yo cast was successful! Next I’ll be experimenting with different colors and painting techniques so I can plan a color scheme for the edition. Yay!

Fro-yo progress
I use a sandable primer to fill in any imperfections and get the surface super smooth. I usually use black so I can see where I’ve already been. Done with the wet sanding, ready for a sealer coat, and then off to the mold making stage!

Making some progress on the cake cone for a future edition of little fro-yo fellas. I like to apply the epoxy clay in layers, letting it cure between work sessions so that I can work on small areas at a time without damaging the overall piece.
