Before and after holographic powder. Holographic powder is translucent, so the first step is always creating an underpainting that deepens the natural shadows and boosts the highlights.
Thanks to everyone for sharing another great night at Galeria Regina!
The encore reception was full of great energy and wonderful conversations. Thanks again to @ryshu and @danielcurranart for all your hard work and beautiful art. You guys are the best . Peeping Bloom
This Amber Eyed Peeping Bloom always keeps an eye out for dreamers lost in slumber. Our internal landscapes are vast and complicated. We could all use a friendly guide in the upside down of our imagination. Where do you go when you sleep?
See all the weird things I’ve been working on, plus beautiful new work by @danielcurranart and @ryshu at Galeria Regina tonight, Saturday August 17th 5-9pm.
Casting a Woolly Caterpillar
This is a split mold, which means I poured it as a single block and cut it open for casting. Check out the below picture to see the original sculpt set up for molding. I put vents in the middle to prevent air bubbles. The blocks beneath the caterpillar are reservoirs to make pouring the resin easier.

Get your own cutie this Saturday at Galeria Regina, 5-9pm.
Solar Fire Bloom 📸 close up
The petals are finished with a color shifting chameleon paint, and the inside piece is painted with holographic pigment that reflects rainbow. See it in person along with fantastic new work by @ryshu and @danielcurranart this Saturday, August 17th 5-9 at Galeria Regina.
Buttermilk Sky Dreamer ️

On view at Galeria Regina, encore reception this Saturday, 5-9pm.
Woolly Caterpillar
Another Woolly Caterpillar, grown from dreams, a sweet fuzzball living in an alien flower-scape. This one has been adopted, but there are still a couple colorways left! Check em out in person, along with new art by @ryshu and @danielcurranart at Galeria Regina, this Saturday 9-5pm.
Flower Bits
Cleaning up the seams and putting together the inside flower bits. The pieces were so small that, even with a pressure pot, I was getting air bubbles. I ended up pouring with the mold open, and topping it off after strapping it together. A little more clean up than usual, but those tiny chisels get the job done easy. Check out this and more at Journey to Terra Flora this Saturday, 5-9 at Galeria Regina.
A strawberry who grows strawberries
Just a simple country farmer with flowers in his back pocket. #fbf to this needle felted sculpture I made a few years back, titled Harvest. Here’s a peek into the process behind making the basket full of berries. 🧺
Sold Out
Dubble Bubble Gumheads have sold out again, but there are still a couple Very Berry (purple) ones available. Get your own gum-based water sprite at the encore reception for Journey to Terra Flora, Saturday August 17th 5-9pm.
Gumheads are elemental spirits. They begin as forgotten wads of gum, stuck under tables and chairs. Most bubblegum is ordinary, but every once in a while, through a twist of fate (and a little saliva), old gumwads awaken as mischievous sprites.Sticky and malleable, they love to steal and hoard tiny objects. They’ve got your DNA in them, but gumheads aren’t always friendly. They have a penchant for chaos when left unattended, but are easily won over with gifts and attention. Under the right circumstances, gumheads are fun companions and can bring good luck and adventure.
Demolding the Blue Haze Bloom
This beauty has sold, but there will be more alien blooms for sale at the encore reception of Journey to Terra Flora August 17th, 5-9pm at Galeria Regina.

🖤🌖 Lunar Light Bloom 📸 detail
Photographing my work helps shift my perspective from maker to viewer. In the middle of a project, all I can see is potential and problems to solve. This last step of documenting turns it all back into magic. I get to discover new details, play with perspective, and think about all the patterns I’ve found in a lifetime of making things.
You can see all the new stuff I’ve been working on at the encore reception of Journey to Terra Flora at Galeria Regina Saturday, August 17th, 5-9pm.
